Low Hanging Fruit Keywords - Why Are They So Powerful & How To Identify Them

Low hanging fruit keywords are search terms where it is relatively easy for you to rank on the search page.

These keywords are highly relevant to your product, they might be either low or high competition.

But there is no reason why we would be ranking on the first page if it wasn't due to the relevancy and a decent CVR for a keyword.

Since we have the data to justify that these keywords are quite relevant, you can drastically increase sales by focusing on these keywords in your ranking campaigns.

If you are ranking at the bottom or at the middle of the page for a high SV keyword, then you might be leaving a massive number of sales on the table.

That is why we want to figure out which keywords our product is ranking organically for from position 10 to 25 or even lower down the page.

It might be worthwhile to push more aggressively with PPC campaigns to get ranked at the top of the page.

How do you find these keywords that you can easily target with your advertising campaigns?

➡️ Go to the Helium 10 and open up the "Cerebro" Tool
➡️ Put in YOUR ASIN and hit "Get Keywords". If there are multiple child ASINs connected to the parent ASIN, you should also put a check on the "Exclude variations" option to avoid mismatch and irrelevant results.
➡️ Apply the following filters:
🟠 Organic Rank - you can start off with the range (10-25) to find keywords where you might be lower on the first page, but probably need a little push with your PPC campaigns to improve your position.
🟠 Search Volume - Minimum 500 to exclude low SV keywords for now and focus on higher traffic keywords.
🟠 In the “Exclude Phrases Containing” filter, make sure to exclude branded search terms.
➡️ Export the data and rename the file according to keyword classification such as "ASIN - Low Hanging Fruits". By having a simple identifier like this you can align your ad strategy properly with the keywords.
➡️ Double check if there is a big correlation between the results shown on the page and your product for a particular keyword.

For keywords that have a search volume of 1,500+ you can consider using these keywords for a ranking strategy.

This ranking strategy revolves around targeting only 1 keyword per campaign at a very high bid to get ranked on the top.

Keep a close eye on how you are moving up on the search page while targeting these keywords.

Slowly make bid adjustments, apply a bid modifier on top of search and see your sales soar up.

Once ranked in the first top 4 organic spots, you can slowly cut back on ad spend and monitor your position over time.

If it turns out that you did not solidify your ranking on the top of the page after pulling back the ad spend. You start dropping down in the search results.

Increase the budget and bids to climb up the search results again.

Use the Helium 10's "Keyword Tracker" tool to track the organic position of the keyword over time.
